What to Expect
from the Teacher
The teacher (David Nagai)...
Motivates students to keep thinking critically, imagining creatively, and believing in themselves.
Encourages students to express their ideas more, even when it is challenging or they are not perfect.
Hosts a safe environment for students to share openly and feel respected. There is no judgement for having different opinions or making mistakes.
Supports students when they need help putting thoughts into words, and also gives group feedback.
Original Materials
We don't use textbooks.
David has created 300+ original materials since 2017.
Most material focuses on one theme each week, introduces a short article or video (4-10 min) and includes audio, transcript, English tips, and six discussion questions.
Some materials introduce an activity like a student-led discussion, brainstorm, or role-play.
We recommend students prepare one hour each week, but less time is also fine. The class itself is interactive group discussion.
